SACC 7th Annual Gala

Every year the Sikh American Chamber of Commerce (SACC) brings together top-notch speakers from the community who reflect on their personal and professional milestones to those seeking guidance and direction. This year we are focusing on how to break various barriers and glass ceilings on our journey towards success. We welcome everyone within and outside the community to attend the 7th SACC Annual Gala and get the leadership advice towards creating your own success story.

Our keynote speakers include Attorney General of New Jersey, Gurbir Grewal and ZS Associates’ Chairman, Jaideep Bajaj. Popular TV host Gurmeet Sodhi and Managing Partner of Chugh LLP, Navneet Chugh will host and steer panel discussions respectively. Registration begins at 6:00 pm and welcoming ceremony starts at 7:00 pm.

The Hon’ble Gubir Grewal

Gurbir Grewal is the 61st Attorney General of the State of New Jersey. He is the first Sikh-American Attorney General in United States history. Raised in Hudson and Bergen counties, Grewal served as a federal prosecutor in New York and New Jersey before serving as a top prosecutor in Bergen County in 2016. Attorney General Grewal graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1995. He obtained his law degree from the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1999. Grewal has made his mark in public and professional life with his beliefs well-grounded in equality and social justice.

Jaideep Bajaj
Chairman
ZS Associates

Jaideep Bajaj is the Chairman of ZS Associates’ board of directors and is based at Princeton, NJ. Jaideep has held a number of senior leadership roles and served as the firm’s first Managing Director after the founders, holding the role between 2003 and 2012. Prior to taking the firm’s helm in 2003, he was the leader of the US Pharmaceuticals industry group and Managing Principal of the Princeton office, which he launched in 1995. His areas of expertise include sales and marketing strategy, effectiveness and customer segmentation. Jaideep’s assignments have included work in the United States, Canada, Australia, Mexico and various other countries. Jaideep holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi, India, an M.S. in operations research from Columbia University, and an M.B.A in marketing and finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ravi Bhalla
Sikh Mayor of New Jersey

Ravi Bhalla is the first Sikh Mayor of New Jersey. He was born and raised in New Jersey. Bhalla received his undergraduate education from the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a B.A. in Political Psychology. Upon graduation, he attended the London School of Economics (L.S.E.) in the United Kingdom and received a Master of Science degree in Public Administration and Public Policy. Bhalla earned a Juris Doctor Degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ravi S. Bhalla has supported Sikhs throughout his legal career. He has supported Sikhs in certain extradition cases, employment discrimination cases, and issues of profiling. He has been a Civil and Human Rights lawyer for many clients throughout New Jersey.

Gurmeet Sodhi
Television Host

Gurmeet Sodhi is a television host; producer and one of the youngest South Asian female to launch her own live talk show. Gurmeet K. Sodhi is one of the youngest females in the South Asian community to be awarded and recognized by many for her entrepreneurial skills and leadership qualities. She has been awarded by Hon. Thomas Souzzi – Nassau County Executive for Leadership and Community Service in 2009; NYS Assemblyman Robert Walker as a Woman of Distinction in 2008; Business Woman Entrepreneur – Leadership for Minority Women owned business in 2006.

Navneet S. Chugh
Managing Partner / Founder
Chugh, LLP

Navneet S. Chugh is the Managing Partner and founder of Chugh, LLP. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of corporate, tax, immigration, litigation and mergers & acquisition matters. He is an attorney (1992) and a Certified Public Accountant (1990). He was the first president of the North American South Asian Bar Association (2003), a co-founder of The Indus Entrepreneurs Southern California (1997), Founder President of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California (1995), the Indian Professionals Toastmasters Club (1986), the International Indian Bar Association and Chairman of the Board of Premier Media, Inc., a publishing company based in Los Angeles, California. He is also on the board of Asia Society of Southern California, Habib American Bank, Ignify – an IT Consulting Firm, Pratham Southern California, and American India Foundation (AIF).
